Do you remember the great social media crash a while back when FB stopped working out of the blue and with no warning?

It happened minutes after I posted, hope it wasn’t me that broke it!!!

It was interesting to hear how much business was lost, how many people conduct business on social media only, also how many people don’t take contact details or use a CRM and how many don’t backup their captured data.

People were literally in a panic as they suddenly had no contact through the FB and Messenger platform.

This got me thinking, so many people have prospects they are interacting with only on social media, they are adding value, giving freebies and trying to get the prospects attention to use their services.

Trouble is, so is everyone else that offers the same or similar services.

Prospects are being bombarded with information from anyone and everyone looking to sell and I think we all know that famous saying I just made up called “who markets best wins the client”.

All this marketing can leave even the most enthusiastic client feeling worn out with all the messages and emails thrown at them every day.

Take diets for example…

Person posts that they are looking for a diet to lose weight, then they get an inbox full of offers for diet plans, weight loss clubs, exercise regimes and supplements, some of these offers are from highly skilled trainers and nutritionists.

Other offers of assistance come from those looking to make a quick buck and who have no background in the weight loss industry but have done a good enough job of marketing to stand out to the prospect and be considered.

So if you offer a professional service and you get some interaction with a prospect who wants to know more about your services, one of the things you can do is get them across to your website if you have one.

Once a prospect is on your website all the other posting “noise” is gone and all they can see is what you offer, it gives you a chance to show them all of your services and testimonials and more about you, without having to shout above the noise of others.

It also gives the prospect chance to really focus on what you offer and whether it’s a right fit for them and to ask questions directly to you.

So whilst it’s great to get interaction and engagement on social media, it can be really beneficial to get the prospect over to your website if possible too.

And when chatting to a potential client be sure to take some contact information too, then should there be another social media outage you will still be able to make contact with your prospects directly.
