It’s time to stop selling, yes you heard that right!


We’ve all seen the hardcore, high pressure sales tactics like those of the Wolf of Wall Street.


People are savvy now; they can spot a sales pitch a mile off and they don’t want to hear it.


I get fed up with listening to the calls that go like this… “Hi, and how are you today, my name is XXXXX and I’m calling you from ABC Company” then they talk over me trying to tell me what they have to offer!


This sort of nonsense is what puts people off wanting to sell, if you have never had to start promoting and selling your business before it is easy to believe you have to act this way and it feels wholly uncomfortable.


So this is why I say stop selling, no one wants to be sold to.


However, there are plenty of people who want to buy your services, so try this instead…


INTRODUCE – tell people who you are and outline what service you offer and ask them to explain their pain points.




PRESENT – tell them about your services, explain the outcome they should expect and ask qualifying questions.




ANSWER THEIR OBJECTIONS – allow them to ask questions and raise objections and offer the solutions.




ADVISE – explain how and and why your services could work for them and give examples of past clients results.


THEN LISTEN👂 – Can you see a theme running through this yet?


Whenever you are trying to promote your services to potential clients all you have to do is LISTEN👂 – let them ask questions and explain what they are struggling and you will start to understand what they want, need and feel.


You will begin to hear what your prospects have to say, understand from their perspective and empathise with their issues.


So be patient not pushy and you will find all the answers you need to make sure they will be the right client for you.
